Lucid Group announced on April 1, 2026, that its all-electric SUV, the Lucid Gravity, has earned the prestigious 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year title from the World Car Awards.
The competition included electric, hybrid, and gasoline-powered vehicles, with winners selected by a panel of over 100 respected automotive journalists from around the world. This marks Lucid’s second consecutive win in the luxury category, following the success of the Lucid Air, which claimed the same award in 2023. Now in its 22nd year, the awards program celebrates innovation, leadership, and excellence across the global automotive industry.
Marc Winterhoff, Interim CEO of Lucid Group, stated that the recognition highlights the company’s strong vision and execution. He emphasized that the Gravity blends the spaciousness and practicality of a large SUV with the performance characteristics of a sports car, all wrapped in a premium, technology-driven package. According to him, these qualities establish a new standard for luxury SUVs worldwide.
Built on an entirely new platform, the Lucid Gravity is engineered to deliver both comfort and dynamic performance. It features a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive and comes equipped with an adjustable air suspension system, ensuring a smooth ride across various terrains. An optional rear-wheel steering system improves handling at higher speeds while also making tight urban maneuvers and parking significantly easier.
The model reimagines what an SUV can offer by combining the interior space of a full-size vehicle with the footprint of a midsize one. Inside, it can accommodate up to seven passengers comfortably, with generous legroom extending even to the third row. Sliding second-row seats and available integrated tables enhance passenger convenience, making it well-suited for both daily use and long journeys.
Under the hood, the Lucid Gravity utilizes a compact yet highly efficient electric powertrain. It delivers an estimated driving range of up to 450 miles and supports ultra-fast charging, adding approximately 200 miles of range in under 11 minutes. This capability is supported by access to more than 32,500 DC fast-charging stations across North America.
The vehicle will be showcased at the New York International Auto Show 2026, taking place from April 3 to April 12, where attendees can explore its features firsthand and even test its performance on the event’s EV track.
Lucid Group continues to position itself as a leader in advanced mobility solutions, designing and engineering its vehicles in-house and producing them at integrated facilities in Arizona and Saudi Arabia. Through its focus on innovation, software-defined vehicle architecture, and premium design, the company aims to push the boundaries of modern transportation.
